Nerdy Dream

I had the nerdyest dream last night, the premise was a Star Trek episode, the one where Q introduces the Enterprise to the Borg. It started at the part where Picard and Guinan are in 10-forward when Q gets all mad at Picard, instead of whisking the Enterprise out to the Borg, he brings me (Picard) to France in WW2 during the German occupation.

In the setting, I had a father and a son. The father was funny, whenever he’d get scared, he’d reach into his old man sweater pockets, and take out his pack of shells, then from another pocket he’d get explosives, and open the shell and insert the explosive (I know nothing about bullets, so this seems right to me), then grab his gun and insert the bullet, all while shaking with old-man fear. The whole procedure took over a minute, and then when he realised the situation was safe, he’d undo the entire thing.

At one point, at night, I was in the street talking to a French guy at a outdoor shop, something similar to a hot dog stand I guess. Then the clerk interrupts me, it’s Q. Refusing to continue to play his games, he agrees. "No games," he says. At that point, three soldiers walk up, yell at me, and aim their guns, and fire. All three shots missed me (barely). I start running into a perpendicular street, hoping to escapes, when three guards march up that street, aim, and fire.

While running between the two, I accidentally run into someone else, who turns out to be Q again. At first I try to use him as a shield, but then I look again and it’s someone else. Eventually we escape, unharmed, and go back to my house to hide out.

The next day, me and the friend are in my room. The room is a poor room, bunk beds, ugly wooden floors, run-down walls, etc. What you’d expect of a house in war time. At one point, we hear people coming, we think it's guards, I stand at the door, my friend is standing back with him gun drawn intending to shoot the first person who steps though.

The door opens, the first individual steps in, and it’s seemingly high school kids on a tour. Apparently they’re on a tour of the wrecked houses in the area. (I know, doesn’t make that much sense)

With them were some soldiers and others. Eventually, the teacher lady looks at me, and her face shows that she recognized me, she turned about to tell the soldier, so I grab her, cover her mouth and yell to the soldier that she was a spy. Quickly, a soldier grabs her and takes her away. As they all leave, one of the soldiers stays behind, I look and it is Q again.

Q tells me a few things, the first was him listing who had just walked through, “10 grade 11s, 9 porn stars, ..." After that he looks at us and says “The Germans know you’re here, it’s only a matter of time until they come.”

And at that we hear more people coming. Again we position ourselves.

I feel pressure pushing against a door. Forced open a bit, it’s a young assassin. They bust in, we shoot the first one, second one gets close enough to my friend to prick him with a poison pin. I slam the door on the 3rd and 4th causes the pins to stab and consequently poison them. I grab a pin off one of them. I squeeze the 5th and 6th in the door and pick them. They start to loose consciousness, but the 6th smiles at me when he's dieing, and looks at the mail slot in the door.

I look and see someone just pricked me with a pin through the mail slot. Trying to stay fighting I hold the door, until I pass out.. Then I woke up.
